The mainstream media constantly tallies Palestinian deaths as a result of IDF actions against terrorists, and tallies Israeli deaths caused by terrorists, if at all, largely to demonstrate that they are less than the number of Palestinians. But the MSM does not tally Palestinian deaths at the hands of Palestinians.
Elder of Zion has noted that the number of Palestinians killed by Palestinians since the beginning of 2007 has reached 500, a “grim milestone” that will go unnoticed and unremarked upon by the MSM. Soccer Dad (who brought the Elder of Zion post to the attention of many bloggers) has a valuable roundup of blogosphere comments.
An insight into the nature of some of the Palestinian/Palestinian deaths was provided yesterday by Fiamma Nirenstein, an Italian journalist who lives in Israel. She interviewed one of the top commanders of the elite Palestinian Authority Force 17 Presidential Guard, one of “the protagonists of the disaster of Fatah,” known undoubtedly for good reasons as “The Butcher.”
After reading her account — “An Insider’s Story of Gaza” — it is hard to know which side to root for, but obvious that neither side deserves a state, nor is ready for one even if they were.
Perhaps the $80 million just given to The Butcher’s “political wing” in order to “enhance the capability of the Palestinian security sector” will — as we approach three years of full-time U.S. military training by Generals Ward and Dayton of the Palestinian Authority’s bloated “security forces” — solve things.
