Here is an absolutely extraordinary slide show of Rabbi David Wolpe’s trip to Haiti this week as part of a “Have Faith Haiti Mission.”
This is his Facebook entry for today:
Shabbat is a day of rest, but also a time of openings and appreciation. It is supposed to be a touch of the ideal; we are willing to chance trusting in God and in other people. During Shabbat, love and vulnerability overcome fear. As Auden wrote: "If equal affection cannot be, let the more loving one be me."
Haiti is an opportunity. Watch the slide show and act accordingly.
