There were 36 nominees for “Best Politics and Current Events Blog” in the Second Annual Jewish & Israeli Blog Awards, divided into two groups of 18 each, with the top six in each group advancing to the finals.
JCI came in seventh in Group A, missing the finals by one blog. One can’t complain, however, given the quality of the finalists: Dov Bear, Dry Bones, Fundamentally Freund, Israpundit, Jewish Russian Telegraph, Jewlicious, Jewschool, Meryl Yourish, Orthomom, Soccer Dad, Solomonia, and Zionist Conspiracy.
JCI came in ninth out of 18 in the Group A nominees for “Best Overall Blog,” behind many of the blogs in the above list as well as Cross-Currents, Diary of an Anti-Chomskyite, Hirhurim, and For Zion’s Sake. And I think Boker tov, Boulder!, In Context, Kesher Talk, Mere Rhetoric and Snapshots should all be finalists on that list.
Thank you to all who voted for JCI, and congratulations to all the blogs who advanced, and all who were nominated.
