The View From Israel, France and Elsewhere

Ha’aretz reports on various polls relating to the U.S. election:

Among Israelis polled, 50 percent said they would like to see George Bush reelected, with only 24 percent for Kerry.

In France, 72 percent said they would like to see Kerry win the election.

Sufa Arafat may be part of the 72 percent. CNS reported earlier this summer that:

Yasser Arafat is waiting out the U.S. presidential election in the hopes that George W. Bush will be voted out of office, the head of Israel’s military intelligence said.

No poll results were available from 10 million new registered voters in Afghanistan, or from people in Iraq (where 300,000 people in mass graves were ineligible to vote).
